Boat Races at the Pool

July 22nd | 12:00-2:00pm

Let your creativity flow as you and your friends or family design and build your own miniature boats. Once your boat is ready, race it across the pool and see whose design takes the prize! It?s a perfect mix of creativity, friendly competition, and poolside fun for all ages!

**DO NOT BRING PREMADE BOATS**

Please bring all the materials you would need for the boat making (plus your own scissors, tape, etc)

The first hour of the event will be timed to make the boat!

Build Your Own Boat Race Rules

Use your creativity to build a boat and race it across the pool!

Boat Building Guidelines

• Boats must be made entirely of recyclable or reused materials (e.g. cardboard, plastic bottles, pool noodles, tape, etc.).
• No metal, glass, or powered motors allowed.
• Boats must be handmade ? no pre-purchased inflatables or rafts.
• All boats must be safe and not harmful to the pool (no sharp edges or messy materials like glitter or paint that will run in water).

Teams & Age Groups

• Participants can enter solo or in teams of up to 3 people.
• Separate race heats for kids, teens, and adults/family groups.

Race Rules

• Boats must be able to float and carry at least one team member across the shallow end of the pool.
• Racers must paddle using hands or DIY paddles ? no kicking or swimming allowed.
• First boat to cross the finish line without sinking wins!
